Power in Pride
Power in Pride exhibits works by twenty-two young queer artists from the National Capital Region. Curated by the youth councils of both the Ottawa Art Gallery and Capital Pride, this multimedia exhibition features paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and video in the public spaces of the gallery. For many of the artists, this exhibition was their first experience in showcasing work in a professional setting. Highlighting themes of self-expression, self-love, mental health, struggle and strength, the showcased works stand as reflections of the artists’ rich inner worlds and feelings. Power in Pride is a demonstration and celebration of queer identity and community.
Held at the Ottawa Art Gallery.

I had the honour of being chosen by the youth jury to participate in this show. This work centers turning the story of my transistion into something akin to a folktale.
